Alright this dude is pretty much done. But only because I’ve run out of time. Ran into some problems retopoing the gloved hand in 3dcoat (retopo mesh snaps to hand inside of the glove instead of the outside of the glove) and I didn’t have time to fix it so he is missing that. Would like to clean up some seams and have some more detail on his mask. Maybe if I have time tomorrow morning.

So that Splash Damage art test was given to us as our first homework. I started him again, building him from spheres with dynamesh/zremesher rather than using the provided base mesh as before.
I’ve just started an MA in Video Game Development and it is pretty rad ahhhh.

The beard is growing slowly! It’s coloured solid black while I figure out the shape.
I’ve wanted to do some nice hair and a beard with alpha maps since playing The Last of Us. Here I gooooo..!

I did a bit more sculpting on an old head and tried out the retopology tools in 3D coat. It was a LOT less painful than in ZBrush and Max but I still had to unwrap in Max. Painted in ZBrush with polypaint and baked with XNormal. One of these days I’ll figure out the workflow for me. Now I’m gonna build some hair in Max and touch up the texture in PS.
